Bionic Reader Privacy Policy

In short: NovelOS Studio: Bionic Reader runs entirely on your device. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or the content of the pages you visit. The only thing it saves is your own settings — whether the effect is on and which reading strength you chose — kept locally in your browser.

What the extension does

Bionic Reader restyles the text of the web page you are viewing by bolding the leading letters of each word, so it is easier to read. You turn it on or off and choose a reading strength (Light, Balanced, or Bold). That is its only function.

Information we store

The extension saves two settings using your browser's local extension storage:

  • Whether bionic reading is turned on.
  • Your chosen reading strength (Light, Balanced, or Bold).

These settings stay on your device so the extension remembers your preference between pages and sessions. They are not linked to you, not shared, and not sent anywhere.

Information we do not collect

Bionic Reader does not collect or transmit any personal data. Specifically, it does not:

  • read, store, or send the content of the pages you visit;
  • track your browsing history, clicks, or activity;
  • use cookies, accounts, sign-in, or analytics;
  • make any network requests or contact any server;
  • show ads or sell or share data with third parties.

Permissions we request

We request only what the extension needs to do its single job:

  • storage — to save your on/off and reading-strength settings locally on your device.
  • Access to the pages you view — so the extension can restyle the visible text of a page when you turn it on. Because you can read on any website, this access covers all sites, but it is used only to re-style text locally in your view. No page content leaves your device.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use or transfer data for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. There is no data to share, because none is collected.

Children

Bionic Reader is a general-purpose reading aid and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
