Caesura
A caesura is a strong pause within a line of verse, often marked by punctuation or produced by syntax.
Caesura in a story
The internal pause can divide thought, interrupt meter, create hesitation, or place two ideas in tension.
Original fiction example
The oath continues: I give the crown; I keep the name.

Punctuation alone does not create a meaningful caesura unless the pause affects rhythm or thought.
