Set a word goal and a deadline. NovelOS then shows the days left, the words to go, and how many words a day you need to finish on time.

Focus modes that keep you drafting
Vanishing mode fades the lines behind you, so you stop editing mid-draft. Zen mode hides everything but the page.

Every book on one shelf, with its progress
Each card shows a book's progress, word count, last edit and deadline. Search by title, author, genre or tag.
The Overview: one page for your book's cover, title and synopsis
Keep the cover, title, logline and synopsis in one place. Total words, chapters and estimated pages are counted for you.
Good to know
- A daily count you can trust. Today's number is the net words you added. Cut and paste, undo, and anything over 500 words inserted at once do not count.
- Writing presets. Common lengths from short story to epic, or type any number.
- Languages without spaces. Word counts are accurate for Chinese, Japanese and Thai.

How does NovelOS help me hit 50,000 words?
Set the target and the deadline. Progress & Goals shows the words left and how many words a day keeps you on pace, next to your streak and a map of your writing days.
Does this work for Novel November, NaNo 2.0 or NovelEmber?
Yes. It is not tied to any event: set any target and any deadline. NaNoWriMo itself shut down in March 2025, and the 50,000-words-in-30-days challenge now runs under several names.
What stops me editing instead of drafting?
Vanishing Mode fades the lines behind you as you type. Zen Mode removes the chapter list and the menus.
Can I flag rough passages to fix in December?
Yes. Leave a comment on the passage or bookmark the paragraph. The Notes list gathers them all in reading order.
Does it track anything besides word count?
Yes. Sentences, paragraphs, vivid (unique) words, estimated pages and reading time.
What happens to my draft after November?
It stays in the same project. Keep revising, then export to DOCX, EPUB or PDF. Nothing expires.
