Why not just use a word processor?
A document has nowhere to put a magic system, a family tree or a map. NovelOS gives lore, locations, items, genealogy and cartography their own places, and links each one to the scenes and characters that use it.
What can I record about a location or item?
A description, a classification, attributes and stats, an image, a chronicle of dated events, a map, and links to the cast and scenes connected to it.
Can I build family trees?
Yes. Drag cast members into parent, partner, sibling and child slots. Partners, secret children and half-relations are all supported, and the tree is stored on the character.
How do I keep magic or politics consistent?
Each lore entry has a Mechanics tab for the hard rules it must obey and a Chronicle tab for its history by era, so the constraints you set early are still visible late.
Can I generate a map?
Yes, from a written description, then name the places and drag landmarks onto it. You can also sculpt terrain by hand, or upload your own image instead.
Does any of this need an internet connection?
No, except optional AI generation. Lore, locations, trees and maps you have already made open and edit offline.
