## Subplot in a story

It may test the same theme differently, complicate resources, reveal another relationship, or create consequences that converge with the central conflict.

## Original fiction example

> While investigating election fraud, the protagonist tries to prevent her brother from selling the family newspaper that holds the only surviving archives.
