NovelOS now runs on your phone. Manuscript, Blueprint, Cast & World, Spark, Overview and Export are all there, and it activates with the licence key you already own. No second purchase, no separate app-store price.

It installs from the browser at [app.novelos.studio](https://app.novelos.studio).

## What it costs

Nothing extra. One $45 lifetime licence covers your Windows and macOS computers and now your phone as well.

That is worth stating plainly, because it is not how this usually goes. Scrivener’s iOS app is a separate $23.99 purchase. Ulysses includes iOS, but only while you keep paying the subscription. Here the key you already have simply works.

## What you can do on it

The modules you use on the desktop are on the phone:

* **Manuscript** for chapters and sub-chapters, with the searchable table of contents
* **Blueprint** for scene cards and the timeline
* **Cast & World** for dossiers, lore and locations
* **Genealogy** and **Cartography** editors
* **Spark** for notes, images and links
* **Overview** for word goals and streaks
* **Export** to DOCX, EPUB, PDF, RTF, Markdown, HTML and TXT

Projects move between phone and desktop through the same `.novelos` archive the desktop apps use.

## What it does not do

One difference worth knowing before you rely on it: the desktop exports **two** kinds of PDF, a digital one for screen reading and a print-ready CMYK file with bleed marks. Mobile exports a single PDF. If you are producing a file for a printer, do that step on the desktop.

Everything else is the same set of tools.

## Why a web app rather than an app store

Three reasons, and the first is the one that matters to you.

**It is the same licence.** An App Store or Play Store build would mean a separate listing, a separate purchase, and a 15–30% platform cut on a product sold once for $45\. Installing from the browser keeps it inside the licence you already bought.

**It updates when we ship.** No review queue between a fix and your phone.

**It does not need a store account.** You install it the same way you would save a bookmark.

## How to install it

Open [app.novelos.studio](https://app.novelos.studio) on your phone. The page detects your browser and shows the right steps, but here they are:

**iPhone and iPad, Safari** — tap Share in the toolbar at the bottom, then Add to Home Screen.

**iPhone and iPad, Chrome, Firefox or Edge** — tap Share in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen. On iOS every browser uses the same engine underneath, so the flow is identical to Safari’s; only the button’s location differs.

**Android, Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet** — you will usually get an install button. If not, open the browser menu and choose Install app.

**Android, Firefox** — open the browser menu and choose Add to Home screen.

Once it is on your home screen it opens like any other app, without browser chrome.

## Your files still stay yours

Nothing about the local-first position changes. Your manuscript is written to storage on your own device, there is no account to create, and no usage tracking. The phone is another device you own, not a server we run.

If you already have a licence, open [app.novelos.studio](https://app.novelos.studio) and paste your key. If you do not, [NovelOS is $45 once](https://buy.novelos.studio) and now covers desktop and mobile together.
